Primary Six students enjoyed an amazing residential trip to Ardentinny Outdoor Center from the 28th of February - 1st March. The trip was extremely enjoyable with activities including Orienteering, Archery, Rock Hopping, a Night Walk, and a Disco. The Staff that accompanied the children were Mrs Spratt, Mr Groome and Ms Keenan. A huge thanks to them, as the trip wouldn’t have been possible without their help and support.

As soon as Primary 6 arrived they were told the rules and heard about the activities they would do. After they unpacked they went downstairs to meet their instructors and be put into groups of about 10 people. The first outdoor activity was a forest walk. They walked along the seaside and through the forest for about 2 miles. After that they went back and got dinner before going back to their rooms to get ready for the night walk.

The next day Primary 6 woke up at 7:00 and went down for breakfast to fill them up before their busy day. Every group had different orders of the day but still all did the same activities. The activities were archery, orienteering and rock hopping. Surprisingly Mrs Spratt hit the bullseye in archery! Orienteering included getting a picture of something in the centre and then the children would get a map and try look for the item and then mark it on a map . The rock hopping was extremely fun. They climbed across a wall of rocks while the sea was inches below them. That night, after dinner, there was a disco with music and lights .

On Friday they had to depart and Primary 6 were quite sad, but happy to be home. Primary 6 said that they really enjoyed the trip even though some activities were hard! The children all enjoyed the experience and now have fantastic tales to tell about their three days away.
