Numeracy and Mathematics: Learning in this curricular area includes number, money and measure; shape, position and movement; and information handling  

Staff use a variety of methodologies to teach every pupil sound mathematical knowledge, skills and encourage an inquiring mind. The development of mental maths skills is a priority.

A carefully structured and balanced maths programme which includes money, measurement, shape, position and movement, problem-solving and enquiry is followed by each child. The emphasis is on practical work and active learning.

A wide range of resources is employed so that important mathematical skills and ideas can be developed.
