Why do we have Outdoor Learning Leaders?

The Outdoor Learning Leaders' role it is to support the delivery and to further the development of Outdoor Learning in our school. 

The Outdoor Learning Leaders

The Outdoor Learning Leaders are a group of Primary 7 pupils who have shown a commitment to participating in Outdoor Learning opportunities offered throughout their primary school journey.  They are leaders with a passion for nature and outdoor pursuits who are keen to share their knowledge and expertise with others and to support the delivery of outdoor learning sessions throughout the school.

Pupils can contact the Outdoor Learning Leaders via the following methods:
  • Pupils can leave a message in the Suggestions Box outside the Outdoor Learning Lab  
  • Pupils can contact the Outdoor Learning Leaders by scanning the QR code on their notice board
Outdoor Learning Leader Responsibilities

As an Outdoor Learning Leader, some of the responsibilities of the role are:

  • Support the delivery of sessions throughout the school to enhance Outdoor Learning.
  • Share skills and expertise with other pupils and school staff.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the resources in the Outdoor Learning Lab are organised, maintained and replenished. 
  • Feed into whole school decisions about future development of outdoor learning.
  • Attend occasional staff meetings to train staff.
