You are here: Health and Wellbeing > Residential Experiences
As part of our Health and Wellbeing curriculum we organise residential experiences for our pupils each year from Primary 5 - Primary 7.
We believe that residential experiences provide a wealth of opportunities to deliver experiences and outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence , particularly those which cannot easily be be achieved in the local community.
School trips offer an opportunity for pupils to engage with teachers in a more informal setting, which helps to build trust and create a personal connection.
Spending time away from their home environment gives children opportunities to develop confidence, resilience, a sense of adventure, an appreciation of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and a chance to reflect on experiences and learning.
It is our aim that residential experiences will be planned each year and Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils will be offered the opportunity to take part. These trips will begin with an overnight visit to FSC Millport in P5, a 2 night trip to e.g. Lockerbie Manor, Lockerbie Manor or Kindrogan in P6 and progressing to a 4 night visit, where possible, to Blairvadach in Primary 7.
